The 2011 Velvet Strand Triathlon has had to be cancelled

An obstacle has arisen that can’t be overcome before race day so unfortunately we have had to cancel completely the 2011 Velvet Strand Triathlon. With close to 350 entries, numbers were already up on last year and the buzz was really building, so we regret that we have to cancel the triathlon.

Full refunds will be issued to all competitors. An email has been sent to all those registered for the 2011 Velvet Strand Race with refund details. If you have any queries please contact us at: velvetstrandtri@gmail.com and we will answer you as soon as possible.

Again we’re sorry that this has arisen, but we have no other option but to cancel.

Race day timetable – 25th September

The timetable for the 2011 Velvet Strand Triathlon in Portmarnock on Sunday 25th of September.

7:30am: sign-on and transition opens

8:30am: sign-on closes

8:35am: race briefing in transition (for all start waves)

9:00am: Start A (probably men 20-35years)

9:30am: Start B (probably men over 35years)

10:00am: Start C (probably all women)

11:30am: last cyclist expected back from the cycle course.

11:45am: transition re-opens.
